Overview A secret rule is set at the beginning of each game which players have to follow when responding to the cards being used in the game. The game was created back in 1956 by Robert Abbott and uses a standard 52 deck of Anglo-American cards. The game was created as an analogy to the scientific method and it is a game that requires players to use logic and inductive reasoning.

The game was later used to teach school kids about the scientific method and it was streamlined into a much more user friendly game. The objective of the game is to find out the secret rule that has been set on the game and then using that rule to empty out the cards that have been dealt to you. A single game of Eleusis can take up 70 minutes!
